Crawford Art Gallery Cork: April 2018 Event Guide

Crawford Art Gallery is located at Emmet Place in Cork City and has a fantastic range of free events this April!

The Official Launch of Opening on Sundays & Bank Holidays is happening on Sunday April the 8th. Crawford Art Gallery is a National Cultural Institution, located in the heart of the City and is one of the most historic buildings in Cork City. With a collection of almost 4,000 artworks and 12 exhibition spaces over 3 floors the Gallery is a must see for visitors.

General Opening Hours
Monday–Saturday 10.00am–5.00pm  *Thursdays until 8.00pm  ( 2nd Floor closes at 4.45pm daily )

Sundays and Bank Holidays 

Gallery: 11am – 4pm       Café: 11am – 4pm

Closed on Christmas Day, and Good Friday.

Gallery opens for the first time on a Sunday

1.30pm
The Lord Mayor officially opens the Gallery

2pm
Tour (suitable for families ) Heroes and Villains.
Meet in Foyer.

2pm –  3.30pm
Family friendly workshop in the Long Room with Siobhan Cabinot. Sketch and be inspired by our exhibition Heroes and Villains. See familiar characters like Captain America, Roy Keane, Christy Ring and the Devil himself!

Just call in anytime between 2pm –  3.30pm
(all children must be accompanied by an adult)

4pm 
Gallery closes

Thursday 12 April

Phillip Toledano: 10am-4pm Photography Workshop

Only 12 places available via application.

Applicants should forward three digital copies of their current work, a short CV and an artist statement to be considered to dawnwilliams@crawfordartgallery.ie.

Award-winning director and writer Professor Anna Furse, FRSA, will give the keynote address.

Partners for this year’s Check Up, Check In are Arts for Health Partnership, West Cork; Cork Kerry Community Healthcare Health & Wellbeing; Niche Community Health Project and Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts.
