The Rebel Review
The choice of menus offered includes Afternoon Tea, Early Bird, A La Carte, Kid Menu and Sunday lunch. The menu offers a great choice of steaks, lamb (rack or shank) poultry, pork, duck with the option of vegetarian meals.
For Sunday Lunch we paid €25 per person which included Starter, Main Course and Dessert. We do feel this is good value for money considering the quality of the restaurant!
Following this, we were escorted to the dining room.
From the get go all went smooth. The staff were friendly, efficient and warm. The interior is classy, we love the old fashioned but elegant country house styled room and the grand piano in the background creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
From the starters to the dessert, they were all presented beautifully. For starters we enjoyed Homemade Soup of the day and The Breaded Brie Cheese with Pesto Drizzle and Tossed Salad. The sauce in the salad was spot on👌 Staff came around and offered scones and bread. If you are a scone lover like us definitely try a scone, it’s homemade and delicious.
Between us, we had Bacon and Cheddar Topped Chicken Breast with Mushroom Sauce and Truffle Drizzle, Aromatic Marinated Pork Steak with Spiced Apple Chutney and Rich Gravy and Corned Prime Irish Beef with Mustard Sauce and Onion Chutney. All dishes were served with Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes! We couldn’t fault any main course, piping hot, full of flavour with a taste of moreish.
For desserts we had Carrot Cake with Crème Anglaise, Freshly Baked Apple Pie with Vanilla Sauce and a Milly Filly cake. Our plates were empty going back to the kitchen, which is always a good sign!
