Rebel Recommends – A Selection of things we love in Cork and Ireland
Inchydoney Beach is one of Cork’s finest blue flag beaches located just a few miles from Clonakilty in West Cork. There are 2 long beaches, one at each side of the hotel. Inchydoney is very picturesque, perfect for taking snaps of the Wild Atlantic way.

Reader Travel Awards 2017 ‘Ireland’s Top 10 beaches’ Winner is Inchydoney Beach!
Inchydoney Beach came top of the list in Tripadvisors 2016 top 10 beaches in Ireland, described as “unspoiled and glorious” 💕
There are stairs and a ramp down to one side of the beach and through the sanddunes on the other side 👌
You will find miles of golden sand when the tide is low and plenty of room to play hurling, soccer or whatever you wish to do. There are many places to balm out, relax and explore. At Inchydoney there is something for everyone to enjoy; Walkers, families, bathers, surfers, couples and more. You can visit different strands or explore the stunning and very accessible coastline and find your own secret cove. Inchydoney is a great place for swimming with a Lifeguard service. The beach is very clean and well kept! 🌞
Unfortunately, narrow approaching roads and parking are Inchydoney’s downsides. Having said that, there is plenty of spaces to park especially at quiet times of the year. However, at peak season a suggestion would be to take the first space you see, and walk (The walk won’t be that long and hey its exercise!) Parking is FREE.
We would definitely recommend Inchydoney beach no matter the time of year.
For stunning sunsets, make sure to take evening walks in the summer, at high tide you can walk on the sandunes and in the wild and wintery weather wrap up and go for a brisk walk. If you ever feel tired, take a trip to Inchydoney and breath in the clean and salty fresh air. This will definitely refresh and revive you!
Always remember to Obey the Lifeguard and Stay Safe,
