Iconic Model T Ford
For anyone driving by Ballinascarthy, it’s hard to miss the stainless steel statue of the iconic Model T Ford. Henry Ford was the man who made cars of a price and a type which almost everyone could afford to buy. The car was the famous Model T Ford.
This Model T Ford is erected to honour Henry Ford’s father William, who was born in Ballinascarthy.
Ballinascarthy (Co. Cork, Ireland) is a small village that is famed for its connection with the Ford Motor Company.
In 1917, Ford Motor Co. opened a plant in the Marina in Cork.
Less than two kilometres away is the Henry Ford Ancestral Site which is located on part of Lisselan Estate.
